Who said classics have to be boring?

I am very happy to speak (or write) about literature and more particularly here, about Literary Classics. As you can see, I’m using capital letters because this type of reading is both a literary institution and a scary thing for many people.

I just want you to know something really interesting about me (or not? Up to you): I did a doctorate in comparative literature. So when people find out about it, they are a little scared (they actually think I did something as huge as Albert Einstein, yeah, yeah, for real …) and they immediately assume that I have read all the classics. Well, let me tell you a secret: I DID NOT. I am only read stories that fascinate me. I look for a part of me in each book, a part of hope and imagination.

So let’s be calm, and talk about MY classics reading.
